Christians are Scarey

Jen Psaki started making her mark in the political arena during President Obama’s administration. During that period, she variously served as White House deputy press secretary; White House deputy communications director; spokesperson for the U.S. Department of State; and White House communications director. After President Biden was elected, she became his White House press secretary. About half way through his term, she left that position and became a political contributor to CNN. Then, in early 2023, she got her own show on MSNBC, Inside with Jen Psaki, which she continues to host as of this writing.

As a member and operative of the Democrat Party, it is quite clear where she stands politically. But recently we have found out some things about her religious beliefs. Searching high and low, you will probably not find any direct reference to her religious faith. We can discern a few things, however, from comments she has made. We know that she is an avid “abortion rights” supporter, and is all in on the progressive gender agenda. And just recently, we found out another little tidbit.

Mike Johnson was just elected to be the new speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives. Johnson is an outspoken Christian and has no problem sharing the fact that he believes the Bible and holds a biblical worldview.

Upon finding this out, Psaki became totally unglued. Concerning Johnson’s religious beliefs, she has said:

• “It’s not just his political ideology that should scare us. Johnson is basically a Christian fundamentalist.”
• Spoken as a pejorative, "You heard that right! The Bible doesn’t just inform his worldview, it is his worldview.”
• "Well, his views on policy are essentially what you'd expect from a religious fundamentalist: they're more divisive than they are divine."

What we can discern from this is that not only is Psaki against people holding biblical beliefs, but she considers them a threat. She says, “People having a biblical worldview “should scare us.”

Given that the entire foundation of American society was established upon biblical principles and values, the fact that progressives are being so direct in calling those beliefs scary tells us that what they want is to destroy that foundation and create a new one – one that represents entirely different values. They want to replace Christian values with Progressive ones.

At this point, it is appropriate to point out that the reason Psaki has such a negative view of Christianity is that she believes in a different religion. If her case is like most Progressives, she probably doesn’t even realize that her progressive beliefs actually constitute a religious point of view, but they do. Progressivism is a religion.

Psaki’s progressivism has its basis in Marxism, and Marxism is atheistic. It begins with the assertion that God does not exist. While there are some Progressives who put a Christian facade on their faith, most Atheists prefer to characterize their beliefs as “a lack of belief” rather than a belief – much less a religious belief. But it is a point of view that has no empirical foundation, and must, then, be believed by faith – which makes is a religious belief.

Furthermore, a belief that dismisses the existence of God must get its moral beliefs and values from a place that can provide them without God. With no God, there is also no basis for any kind of objective morality, so Progressives must make it up for themselves. And it must be done using a relativistic approach – that is, based on their own opinions at any given point in time.

And Psaki has done just that. She has decided that Christian beliefs are bad because they go against her preferred moral beliefs. She has decided that abortion and homosexual marriage, for instance, is morally right, and has determined to attack the Christian faith, as it opposes her atheistic faith. Naturally, since she gets to make up her own morality, that could change in the future if she felt some compelling reason.

Of course, Psaki is not alone in her beliefs. The attacks on Mike Johnson are coming from all quarters of Progressivism. But Christians must realize that the attacks are really not against Johnson, they are against the Christian faith. And any Christian who is willing to stand for their faith is bound to receive the same treatment.

Attacks on Christianity, and individual Christians, is on the rise. As a result, it is increasingly important for Christians to get up to speed on the biblical way to deal with that. It involves not only having the right attitude, but also knowing how to analyze the opposition, pointing out the false beliefs of the opposition, and knowing how to effectively share the truth of the gospel. These are the skills every Christian in modern society must now master. Those who don’t will find themselves in a very oppressed position.
