Abandoning her desire to be chosen by men and finding peace in the fact that she was already chosen by God, Emily found the joy she had been looking for in serving God.
In I Said Yes, Emily tells the story of her life before and after reality TV fame, describing the profound new reality she discovered when she forsook fame in favor of the Lord. At the end of a long, fruitless search for a man, this courageous young woman found the truest love of all waiting right in front of her. To that love, Emily said yes.

About the Author:
Emily Maynard Johnson is best known for her appearances on ABC’s The Bachelor and The Bachelorette. I have always loved Emily Maynard.. loved the way she carried herself, the way she presented herself, the values she has instilled in her daughter, and her style. When she came on the Bachelor, she was immediately my number one pick and I was just as excited when she became the Bachelorette. I bought this book on my kindle and read it within 2 days.. I couldn't put it down. I absolutely loved hearing her back story and how she got to where she is now. I adore and respect her 100x more today then I ever have before. There aren't many people in this world that could go through the heartache & heartbreak she has gone through and come out the way she has. She is the kind of person I have always wanted to be, and has made me want to work harder to become that person. I loved the quote towards the end of the book where she said her pastor stated to her and Tyler (I am probably not saying this correctly but it was with this point in mind) "you can give up on a marriage but you can't give up on a best friend". As a divorced, single mom - that REALLY struck a cord with me. Amazing book, Emily. You are every bit as poised and beautiful on the inside as you are on the outside. -HMcLaughlin
I bought this book because Emily's season was the last one I watched of any Bachelor series, and I really enjoyed watching her journey and felt equally upset for her when her second TV relationship didn't work out.
Emily focuses on her upbringing (which I enjoyed reading) and a lot on the Brad Womack days, however, it seemed like only about 8-10 pages were dedicated to Jef. Now this could be that she really felt strongly for Brad and spent more time talking about him and essentially didn't feel strongly for Jef and therefore didn't devote much time to him in the book. However, it felt a little lopsided in terms of flow of the book. All this time was spent building story & background with her upbringing, followed by much information on the Brad Womack days and then it wrapped up so quickly with a little info about the Jef Holm days and a super quick ending with her current life.
All in all, I enjoyed the book but felt the final 25% was quick, not thought out and didn't flow with the beginning/first half. -Shannan Farmer
