All You Can Do Is Shake Your Head

Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson recently spent time answering questions for the Senate Judiciary Committee as a part of the confirmation process for her quest to become the next U.S. Supreme Court justice. When Senator Marsha Blackburn asked her to define the word “woman,” Jackson replied that she could not answer that question. And her excuse? ... “I’m not a biologist.”

Well, the reason she could not answer the question is not actually that she could not answer the question. She knows good and well what a woman is. She is herself, after all, a woman. No, the reason she would not answer the question is that she has a political agenda that would be sidetracked if she actually gave an answer to the question.

In modern times, the political left is determined to promote the homosexual agenda, and in particular the transgender subset of that agenda. Transgenderism has become the new civil rights cause celebre of the modern American left, and admitting that there is an objective biological foundation for womanhood (the biblical point of view) would undermine their claim that it is possible for a person to change sexes. The ability to change sexes is objectively not possible, of course, but the political left is so determined to make society pretend that it is true, that they are willing to go to almost any lengths to get their way.

The first step in that process was to claim that there is a distinction between gender and biological sex. While they may admit that there are only two biological sexes, they claim that there are many genders. This begins the process putting personal preference on an equal par with objective reality.

The next step was to claim that it is possible for a person to transition from one sex to another. This, they say, is possible by taking hormone treatments and by surgical alteration of a person’s genitalia.

The next step in the process was to claim that a person can change their sex by simply identifying as a person of the other sex. All that is required here is to make a claim.

By putting all three of these together, those who are determined to promote belief in transgenderism believe that they have created a solid foundation (and enough confusion) for getting their view legitimized by society. Never mind that none of the three arguments reflect reality. In their mind, it is a legitimate argument because they have rejected a belief in objectively true moral beliefs, and they have bled this rejection of objective truth over into the arena of biology. The result of this in real life is that we have biological men competing against biological women in sports, as well as biological men claiming womanhood in other arenas. For instance, the United States assistant secretary for health, as well as a former male Olympic decathlon champion, both of who are biological males, claim to now be women. And since Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson herself agrees with and promotes this point of view, she could hardly undermine her argument by admitting to the idea that biological sex is based in objective reality.

Of course, when the question was asked and she gave her answer, the obvious truth of the matter was visible for all to see. But, since the left can’t admit that kind of reality out loud, they had to do something to protect themselves. And they did it by doubling down on the lie.

In fact the USA Today newspaper went so far as to publish an editorial to back Jackson up. Their editorial claimed that, according to experts, Jackson’s answer was scientifically sound – that because there are billions of women on the planet that exhibit so much variation, there is no sufficient way to clearly define what makes someone a woman. They claim that sex categorization is actually a social issue, so science cannot claim to give an answer. They claim that what is necessary is to “build a definition of sex particular to context.”

Well, the entire article is nothing but a bunch of double-talk mumbo jumbo. It redefines words in order to make muddy something that is absolutely and totally clear – all for the purpose of gaining a political advantage.

  • The objective truth is – there are only two genders, and they correspond to biological sex.
  • The objective truth is – it is not possible for a person to transition from one sex to another. No amount of hormone treatment or body altering surgery can change a person’s DNA. The various differences between the billions of women on earth does not speak, in any way, to whether or not a person is a woman.
  • The objective truth is – claiming to be something one is not will not change what they actually are.

It doesn’t matter that mass media promotes the concept of transgenderism. It doesn’t matter that the giant corporate social media platforms ban any opinion that pushes back against the transgender lie. It doesn’t matter that powerful politicians and activist judges push transgender political policy. It doesn’t matter that powerful people in business and the entertainment industry cancel those who state the truth about sexuality.

None of that matters. God made reality to exist in a particular way, and no untrue characterization based on untrue worldview beliefs will change that. The truth is the truth, and the transgender narrative is a lie – objectively so!
